Raise your hand if you were surprised that Super Smash Bros. is the bestselling Wii U game so far. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
The game has sold around 500,000 copies in just three days, which is very significant for a Nintendo sales number, especially for a fighting game. Of course, this doesn’t hold a candle to the millions of day one sales that games like Call of Duty get, but it’s still very significant.
Super Smash Bros. is currently the fastest selling Wii U title in the U.S. and Nintendo expects sales to continue to grow during the holiday season. Nintendo has commented, saying that they have a “few surprises in store” for fans this holiday season. We can only hope that means more DLC.
