Halo 5’s Beta Will Allow 343 to Make Meaningful Changes

Halo 5’s Beta Will Allow 343 to Make Meaningful Changes

It’s been reported that the Beta for Halo 5: Guardians isn’t just be a marketing ploy or something to put 343 Industries in everyone’s good books, but instead it’s an opportunity for the Halo developer to really listen and taken onboard feedback in order to make some meaningful changes to the game before it releases next year.

At least that’s what the developer’s executive producer, Dan Ayoub, sells it as. It’s been the norm recently that Betas for big games come around usually a few weeks before the games’ releases, but in a recent interview, he explained why 343 Industries would be launching a Beta for Halo 5 almost a year before the game itself actually releases.

A lot of the time you’ll see betas a couple of months before launch and generally those are more to test servers, make sure the back end’s going to hold up. Doing something a year in advance gives us the opportunity to be a lot more reactive, ” Ayoub told CVG two weeks ago.

If we put this thing out two months before launch, we aren’t going to be able to change or tweak anything. We’re going to get a lot of player data coming off of this, we’re going to hear what people like and don’t like, and we’re going to have a year to respond to that.

Halo 5’s Beta is currently scheduled to kick off at the end of the month on Monday, December 29, and it’ll continue on going until Sunday, January 18 next year, according to Halo 5’s overview on Halo Waypoint . Halo 5 itself is slated to release on Xbox One sometime late next year.
