Don’t Worry, Your Destiny Progress Will Carry Over to Sequel

In a recent interview with IGN, Bungie’s community manager, David “Deej” Dague, provided some insight on what plans there are for Destiny’s sequel and for the franchise’s future, but he couldn’t outright confirm where exactly the sequel was in its development cycle.

It’s been no secret that we have a ten-year plan for the expansion and evolution of this franchise, and it’s something that we’re always dreaming about, ” he told IGN. I’ve seen new concept art, I’ve seen new exotic weapons up on people’s screens…it’s a lot of fun to walk around the studio, because there’s always somebody thinking about the next place you’ll go, the next enemy you’ll fight, the next thing that you’ll earn for doing those things.

Destiny’s publisher, Activision, confirmed back in early November that a direct sequel to Bungie’s latest shooter is already in development , as well as confirming that additional expansion packs for the game are in the works.

Work has also begun on future expansion packs as well as on our next full game release, ” Activision’s CEO, Eric Hirshberg, said during an earnings call. ” We’re very pleased with the launch and continuing engagement.

Deej also confirmed that progress gained in the original Destiny will also be one hundred percent transferable to its sequel, recognising that some Destiny players have grown attached to their characters and wish to see them carried over to subsequent sequels in the franchise–himself included.

The idea is that the Guardian you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure. If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time.

When speaking about his own personal Destiny character, Deej added: ” I’ve gotten attached to that little guy.

Not much is know about Destiny’s sequel other than its currently being worked on. Destiny is available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and its first expansion pack, “ The Dark Below ”, is now available.
