New Mortal Kombat X Info Surfaces

New Mortal Kombat X Info Surfaces

If you’re a Mortal Kombat fan (and why wouldn’t you be), Sony’s PlayStation Experience offered up several juicy new morsels regarding the upcoming sequel.

First are details GameInformer was able to milk out of Executive Producer Shaun Himmerick pertaining to the game’s timeline. We all know X will span a period of 20-30 years into the future, but how will they explain that based on where we left off in 2011? “At the beginning of the game we do one of those ‘Hey, remember what happened and then jump to the future” kind of moments. A lot of people die. I always joke that I think one of the reasons Ed wanted to do Quan Chi is because he’s the guy from Hell who can resurrect people, but they are not always the same. Quan Chi obviously lets us do that. The nice thing: We have a whole new generation of people to play with, not just the one age. We can kind of have different tiers from different ages.” Explains Himmerick.

We also know Babalities have been officially ruled out, stages will no longer possess both day and night transitions (but will feature a new weather system) and Animalaities will possibly return. We’ll keep you posted once we know more, as additional info is expected to be released in January of next year.
