Online Heists Finally Revealed for GTA V

Online Heists Finally Revealed for GTA V

A n IGN interview with GTA Online’s producer and lead mission designer Imran Sarwar has answered a lot of questions regarding Grand Theft Auto V’s long-awaited Online Heists feature. According to Sarwar, Online Heists has taken a while to come around because creating it has turned out to be more difficult than what developer originally thought.

After many months of designing, testing, rewriting and re-testing, we settled on the four-player structure that you will experience in the game. It took a ton of work from our programmers and mission designers to make it work at the level we were happy with, ” Sarwar told IGN.

He also touched on how Online Heists will actually work in terms of gameplay. For instance, some missions will require players to work in a large group, while some will demand that they split into smaller teams in order to pull off their intended heist.

Finally, Sarwar confirmed that Online Heists will launch with about twenty missions, which will add up to a combined total of twenty hours of gameplay.

We hope players will then replay them multiple times to take on the other roles and to try different ways of tackling the missions. We’ve tried to add a lot of variety and there’s a mixture of open-ended gameplay, big set-pieces and a few surprises too.

While there’s no solid release date for Online Heists just yet, Sarwar confirmed that the online feature will be ready in early 2015.
