Will Next Pirates of the Caribbean Film Be A Total Reboot?

On Stranger Tides grossed over $1 billion dollars worldwide, so you knew it was just a matter of time before another Pirates of the Caribbean film was put into production. However, will the series hit the reset button with the next sequel?

In a recent interview, actor Orlando Bloom teased a return of his character and how the series may move away from the adventures of Jack Sparrow and focus more on Will Turner’s return. “I’m not entirely sure that I’ll be back just yet, but there are talks. Basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son… I’m of course Davey Jones now, so I’m down the bottom of the ocean. It might be kind of fun to do something where I’m rumbling round the bottom of the ocean, because I won’t look anything like me. Get all gnarly.” Bloom jokes.

This has not yet been confirmed and should be considered complete speculation at this point. The next Pirates film is set to hit theaters summer of 2017.
