Avengers Director Joss Whedon Talks The Vision in Age of Ultron

Avengers Director Joss Whedon Talks The Vision in Age of Ultron

It’s almost Christmas, and we’ll soon be wrapping up the final days of 2014. While that might seem a bit sad in some respects, it also means we’re that much closer to the release of the next Avengers flick.

SuperHeroHype visited the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron earlier this year and got the chance to speak with director Joss Whedon about several aspects of the production. While much of it has been kept under embargo by Disney up ‘till recently, the site is now allowed to talk more in-depth regarding some of the tidbits Mr. Whedon shared. For example; several questions regarding The Vision’s appearance in the film came up, with SuperHeroHype wondering whether the final look of the character would continue to change over the course of shooting.

Here’s what Whedon had to say, suggesting things were pretty well finalized by that point: “No, we make them as close as we can. The stunt guy, we have to make allowances for the shape of his face and padding and things that we’re putting on him, but they’re not meant to look different. Basically, what usually happens is, one of the guys, Ryan Meinerding or one of the guys on his staff draws something unbelievably beautiful, and we try to create that in real life, and it takes a long time. The first tests were very Violet Beauregarde. It really took a long time to get to a place where we felt like… even though we will work on him in post… he walks on and we go, “Oh, it’s The Vision! My God!”
