343 Industries Offers Free Compensation for Master Chief Collection Woes

It’s no news that the recently release Halo: The Master Chief Collection had a bit of a botched launch, what with its initial matchmaking problems and its subsequent bug fixes thereafter.

Halo’s franchise director, Frank O’Connor, admitted fault with The Master Chief Collection’s launch last month, and last week, on Friday, December 19, the general manger behind 343 Industries, Bonnie Ross, in thanks to the support received from the developers fans and enthusiasts alike during and after the game’s launch, has outlined free compensation which Halo players can receive at their leisure if they fall into a certain time frame.

If you purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection anytime between the game’s launch date (Tuesday, November 11) and last week (Friday, December 19), you’ll be eligible to receive goodies such as small in-game exclusive and a free month of Xbox LIVE Gold.

However, in addition to 343 Industries’ tokens of appreciation, the developer will be answering the requests to bring more maps to Halo 2: Anniversary as well as bring Halo 3: ODST’s campiagn in its entirety.

As soon as they’re available, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be implemented with an enhanced version of 2009’s Halo 3: ODST , which is promised to run at 1080p, 60 frames per second. The full game will be available for free to anyone who bought The Master Chief Collection within the outlined time frame above.

Halo 2: Anniversary will also receive a reimagined version of the fan-favorite map “Relic”, which has also been fully remastered to run at 1080p, 60 frames per second. Also going to be available as a free update, 343 Industries chose this map in particular due to its suitability for Slayer and Objective multiplayer gamemodes.

“The satisfaction and joy of our fans is absolutely critical to everyone at 343 Industries and we regret the issues and the frustration you have endured.  We are truly sorry and thank you for your continued patience and support of the Halo franchise,” Bonnie Ross concluded.
