PS4 Delayed in Chinese Territories

China is still the land of promise for video game developers. Only recently having listed their ban on consoles, this incredibly population dense country holds great sales potential for video game developers and console manufacturers. However, it seems as if first party devs are having trouble getting their consoles launched in Chinese territories.

Sony, for example, has called off its launch plans for the PS4 in China. The console, scheduled to launch on January 11 th , is being held back indefinitely due to “various factors.” According to Reuters, Sony is still in negotiations with Chinese authorities.

The Xbox One launched in China on September 29 th last year. Sony has, unfortunately, still not been able to get into the Chinese market. If the PS4 manages to launch in China, it will be the first Sony console ever sold in Chinese territories.

We will bring you more information on China’s growing video game market as it becomes available.
