Work on Steam Controller Rumored to be Finished

After months of teased concept art and repeated redesigns, it would appear Valve has finally gotten their Steam controllers just right.

According to Kevin Wasielewski (CEO of Origin PC), they’re ready for the world to see what they hope will be a revolutionary new concept in peripherals, targeting the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco as a prime date for their debut. “At GDC, they’re going to have more information. And we’ll be there. That’s the official stuff we can say. They came out with the controller, then they got some user feedback, and they had to revamp it; they got some more user feedback and had to revamp it again. So they went through that like three or four times. And now their controller is finalized. So now they’re going to production and at GDC is when they’re going to announce more stuff.” Wasielewski states.

In other Steam related news, when Wasielewski was asked about the name “Steam Machine,” he quickly shot down the notion it holds any significance in 2015. He feels the name has now died out, suggesting that “…living room PC is now the new term. Living room PCs have been around forever. That’s not anything new either. But it seems like there’s a legitimate demand and push for living room PCs.”

The GDC will take place in March, and CheatCC will bring you coverage of all its goings-on.
