PC Modders Add First Person Mode to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

A modder named Pao has just released a patch that allows you to play Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes in first person mode. Using this patch basically lets you play Ground Zeroes in a sort of Call of Duty: Mode . Aim down sights functionality is still there, it’s just that the camera never snaps back to over Snake’s shoulder.

The mod isn’t perfect. Many objects including Snake’s own body will disappear a times, since the camera was never quite meant to stay this close at all times. Crawling, sneaking, and otherwise altering your movement also causes some weird camera glitches at times. In addition, some of the gun animations really do seem lacking when viewed up close, although this isn’t really a symptom of a patch, rather an artifact of the original game seen from a different vantage point.

The patch doesn’t really do much else other than convert the game to a first person perspective. That being said, it is quite the different experience when you play the game through Snake’s eyes. Stealth element in particularly as much more thrilling. To download the patch, head on over to Nexus Mods.
