Ubisoft’s complementary DLC for Assassin’s Creed Unity has now been released after the developer declared it would be free for everyone to have after its latest game to the Assassin’s Creed franchise was heavily criticized. This new DLC, titled Dead Kings will be interchangeable with Assassin’s Creed Unity, meaning that new items found therein will also be playable in the base game and vice versa.
Originally part of the game’s now dissolved Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Dead Kings will offer players a continuation of the main protagonist’s story, Arno. Taking place after the events of the base game, Arno finds himself in an intricate network of catacombs will with the remains of long-dead French royalty. It is within these tombs that Arno must uncover “the dark mysteries that lie beneath the Basilica.”
Familiar faces will be encountered in Dead Kings, including Napoleon. A new faction, known as the Raiders, will also be Arno’s new enemy. Players will even be able to take part in new side-quests, such as Murder Mysteries and co-operative missions. Not only that, but players will be able to unlock new weapons, gear and outfits as well, which will be equipable in both Assassin’s Creed Unity and Dead Kings.
The DLC’s cinematic trailer released last week, which teased an eerie location at the end of an engagement between Arno and the aforementioned Raiders. You can watch this trailer via the embedded video below.
