Starbound’s New Stable Update Adds Tons of Content and 25% Discount

Starbound’s New Stable Update Adds Tons of Content and 25% Discount

Wednesday, January 28’s initial announcement of Starbound receiving a forthcoming Stable update eventually saw to said update also being released in the same day. The Unstable (alternately known as the nightly branch) version of the game saw continuous updates to the game throughout the past year, and it is only now that the fruits of those updates have been delivered to the Stable version of Starbound , the less buggy and more functional version of the two.

The Stable update itself adds months-worth of content, so much so that the game’s developer, Chucklefish Games, hasn’t listed them all. Aside from new biomes, new techs, new outposts, missions and new ways to navigate aplenty, Starbound now has a new playable race (the Novakids, whom have their own unique progression trees) and an improved combat system. The game’s survival mechanics have also been updated, and new monster types have been introduced, too. Even keybinding, mod support and enhanced performance are in addition to plenty of other changes delivered by the new Stable update.

One of the game’s developers not only tweeted that Starbound would receive its first Stable update in ages, but also announced that the game would be given a 25 percent discount. For the time being, the game is now $11.24 / £8.99 (compared to its previous $14.99 / £11.99 price tag). The full changelog for Starbound’s Stable update can be read in full via the first source link below.
