Another year, another development in the lack of development of The Last Guardian . Recently, it appeared as though the US trademark for The Last Guardian had been abandoned by Sony. The United States Patent and Trademark Office sent Sony a notice about extending the trademark last July, and had heard no response from them up until a few weeks ago, when the trademark was marked as canceled.
According to Sony, this was due to an administrative error. They do still want the trademark and have since filed to have the trademark restored. They have confirmed that the game is (sigh) still in development, but they haven’t been able to say how far along it is, or what system it will come out on, or even if it’s about the same premise.
Oh well, I guess we’ll just wait for the game to not show up at E3 again this year.
