Winning Bidder Welches On Bid for Rarest PlayStation 4

Winning Bidder Welches On Bid for Rarest PlayStation 4

The very first 20 th Anniversary PS4 console, themed after the original PlayStation 1, was recently auctioned off via Yahoo Auctions. The winning bidder pledged to pay $129,000 for the incredibly rare console. Unfortunately, this bidder was completely full of lies.

The bidder, who placed his bid anonymously (probably should have seen trouble coming right then) has pulled out of the auction after placing the winning bid, which leaves the seller high and dry. Worse, all proceeds were going to go to Save the Children Japan, which means not a whole lot of children are going to be saved today.

Luckily, Sony has decided to step in and make things right. Not only will they meet the false bid, they also decided to double it. So a grand total of $258,000 will be donated to Save the Children Japan, and Sony will keep the PS4 on display in its Japanese offices.

Welching on a bid that was supposed to go to charity? That’s low, even for the Internet.
