Mother 4 , the brand new Mother game made entirely by fans, is still being made. It was originally slated to come out last winter, but the team delayed it, and since then we’ve had absolutely no idea when it is going to come out. However, a brand new trailer has just been released and with it a new release window has been given. They are hoping to release the game this summer, hopefully in June.
To keep us held over, the trailer shows a whole bunch of new in gameplay footage. You get to see all the characters in action, several battle scenes, and a bunch of new mechanics. Rhythm battles from Mother 3 are coming back, along with specific instruments for each character. Brand new battle items allow you to guarantee critical hits. There is even a new battle function that allows the main character, Travis, to bat back projectile attacks for tons of damage. It’s about time we used a baseball bat for its intended purpose.
