Unlike the standard Mario Amiibo, this one is totally gold, and will be a special edition available exclusively at Walmart. The model is exactly the same as Mario’s basic Amiibo model (not the Smash Bros. model) but he has been completely painted over in shining gold.
The Gold Edition Mario Amiibo will hit store shelves on March 20, alongside the release of the new Mario Party 10. It is exclusive to the United States and can be purchased for $13. The Gold Mario Amiibo will be usable in all games that can utilize a Mario figure, including Mario Party and Smash .
