Mortal Kombat X Is Coming to Mobile Platforms

Mortal Kombat X Is Coming to Mobile Platforms

Upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat X will be able to be played on your iPad. Unfortunately, it’s not really going to work the same way the console version will work. Instead, Mortal Kombat X on Mobile will be a free to play hybrid game described as a “fighting game/card-battler hybrid.”

“NetherRealm Studios has created a Mortal Kombat X mobile experience that allows more players than ever before to play this over-the-top fighting game through their ever-present smartphones, tablets, or other devices,” NetherRealm boss Ed Boon said. “What’s more, we’ve expanded the unique cross-connectivity feature that links the mobile and console versions of Mortal Kombat X, delivering unique rewards to all players for simply playing the mobile game.”

The mobile version of the game will feature connectivity with the console and PC version of the game. Unlocking content in one version of the game will unlock rewards in the other version of the game, and this goes both ways. Hopefully there won’t be any content that will be exclusive to people who play the mobile version of the game.

The mobile version of Mortal Kombat X is slated to come out in April, around the same time as the console version of the game. Mortal Kombat X will launch on April 14 for consoles.
