Shovel Knight is expanding its eight bit realm soon with a free expansion called Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows . The expansion will allow you to play as Plague Knight, a former member of the Order of No Quarter, traveling the world after the defeat of the sorceress. Plague Knight is looking to create the ultimate potion – or poison, it’s all the same to him. Unfortunately, his former allies hold the ingredients he needs, and so he will have to battle them to finish his concoction.
Currently it is unclear whether or not Plague Knight’s stages will be different, or for that matter who Plague Knight will face at the end of his own stage. However, Plague Knight will have different abilities, such as a variety of ranged attacks. In addition, Plague Knight will not have a shovel bounce, so he will have to get around stages in different ways.
Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows release for all platforms that Shovel Knight is available on simultaneously, including PC, Mac, Linux, 3DS, Wii U, PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. It will drop during the second quarter of this year, though an official release date has not yet been given.
