Evolve Getting New Free “Observer” Mode

Evolve Getting New Free “Observer” Mode

One of the big problems with Evolve is that it just isn’t all that fun to watch. If you watch the monster, all you are doing is watching him attack things that don’t attack back and eating them, and if you watch the hunters all you are doing is watching them blindly chase the monster. Both of these lack something important: context. Only by watching both the hunters and the monster at the same time can you really tell what’s happening in any given match.

That’s why Evolve will be getting a brand new Observer mode soon. This allows a sixth player to connect to the match as the Observer, which is a role specifically meant for streaming and broadcasting Evolve games. The Observer can switch between any role on the fly, following them as they do whatever they do, but it can also see the position of all five roles on the map, as well as health, perks, stats, survival odds, ammo, and a lot more. You basically get to see the whole game all at once, which makes it a lot more interesting to watch.

Observer mode is going to be patched into the game completely free, though the only date we got was “soon.” We will give you more information on Observer mode as it becomes available.
