For some, the release of a Metal Gear Solid sequel represents more than just the arrival of a much-anticipated new entry in the franchise; it’s an event of epic portions. In light of this, Konami looks to help those die-hard fans celebrate in style this fall.
The Phantom Pain’s drop has officially been set for September 1 (a bit later in the month for Steam users), which will see its arrival heralded by three different releases. The first is the stand-alone title housing just the game disc itself, while the second and third feature a few more bells and whistles. If you pick up your copy right at launch, you’ll receive the “Day One” edition that comes with a packed-in map and additional DLC (offer not valid on digital downloads).
