Steam Breaks All Time Player Record

Steam Breaks All Time Player Record

Steam continues to grow day by day, with more players signing up and playing as time goes on. Recently, Valve has managed to break a very important record with Steam, the number of concurrent players playing at the same time. In February, Steam logged nearly 9 million players playing all at once. In January 8.4 million was the record, and before that it was 8.35 million. About 900,000 of these users were playing DOTA 2 , while 600,000 were playing Counter-Strike Global Offensive . This just further reinforces the idea that Steam is the digital distribution platform of choice for PC gamers.

Not only that, but Steam’s total user base also continues to break records. In February, Steam announced that it had 125 million active users. If only the active users of Steam came together to form their own country, it would be the 11 th most populated country in the world, right under Japan at 126,970,000 and easily beating Mexico at 121,005,815. That’s somewhere around 1.7% of the world’s total population, and much of the world’s total population doesn’t even have access to Steam.
