God of War III Remastered Is Coming To The PS4

God of War III Remastered Is Coming To The PS4

Late last week, Sony Santa Monica Studios Creative Director Cory Barlog revealed on the PlayStation Blog that his team is currently planning to release a remastered version of God of War III for the PS4 on July 14. The game is expected to retail for $39.99 and will run at 1080p and 60fps.He also stated that this title would help celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the God of War franchise and allow new players to dive headfirst into the experience.

Prior to this news, Barlog had mistakenly mentioned working on a new God of War game during a PlayStation Experience panel back in December. While this may have very well been the project that he was referring to, the interesting thing of note is that the team is still actively working on another game that they haven’t officially unveiled yet.

As a diehard fan of the God of War series, I’m seriously questioning the logic behind this move. If Sony truly wanted to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the franchise, they should have remastered the first 3 games in the series and made a complete collection. God of War III is an awesome game on its own, but as a trilogy the series is absolutely flawless and worthy of so much more.

Are any of you planning on picking up God of War III Remastered later this year? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
