Angry Joe Swears Off Nintendo Forever

Angry Joe Swears Off Nintendo Forever

Prominent streamer and internet celebrity Angry Joe is, well, angry, specifically at Nintendo. He is completely tired of Nintendo’s attitude toward Youtubers.

Over the weekend, Joe posted a video of him playing Mario Party 10 . Near immediately the video was flagged for using copyrighted material, and while it wasn’t taken down, it said that all the ad revenue would go to Nintendo.

Joe said that he spent over 900 dollars on his Wii U setup, just so that he could stream Nintendo games. But, according to him, that’s not good enough for Nintendo, and they need to monetize his play sessions as well.

Nintendo has attempted to reach out to Youtubers with their new Creators Program, which says that certain Youtube videos are eligible to earn ad dollars for select games. Even so, Nintendo itself will still be raking in some cash from these videos. Even if you were ok with this, however, you have to have your videos pre-approved by Nintendo, and the games you play have to be on an approved list . Mario Party 10 was not on that list.

Angry Joe posted one more video where he vents his anger at Nintendo, telling them “good job” in a sarcastic way, applauding them for reducing their coverage of the game.

Joe isn’t the only Youtube content creator who is upset with Nintendo’s attitude toward online content creators. He, as well as many others, have said that they will start boycotting Nintendo, and will stop showcasing Nintendo videos on their channels.

Nintendo will likely not respond to this move, but as the current loser in the console wars, can they really afford to piss off their fans even more?
