The Forest Gets Unity 5 Engine Update

The Forest Gets Unity 5 Engine Update

Earlier this week, Steam released a very significant update for The Forest . The game now has full Unity 5 support, improved visuals, and better performance across the board. The one major drawback to all of this news is that some save files are no longer valid due to the reworked environments.

The Forest is a first-person open world survival horror game that was created by Endnight Games. The title debuted through Steam Early Access last year and is finally coming to the PS4 later this year.

While I’m glad to hear that the game is now making full use of Unity 5, the missing save files will definitely be a big issue for most. Hopefully the developers can address this in a future update so that everyone doesn’t have to replay different portions of the game.

Have any of you had a chance to play The Forest yet? If so, please feel free to tell us what you think about the game in the comments section below.
