Konami Delists Itself from New York Stock Exchange

Konami Delists Itself from New York Stock Exchange

Konami is forcing a rather tough time ahead. First we heard that Kojima and Konami have a falling out, then Silent Hills is canceled, and now Konami has delisted itself from the New York Stock Exchange.

Konami insists that this has nothing to do with Kojima or the canceling of Silent Hills. Instead, 99.71 percent of trading in the company occurred in Japan and London. In short, there just arne’t a whole lot of Americans trading with the company. When you combine this with the fact that staying on the New York Stock Exchange costs Konami approximately five million dollars a year, it seems pretty clear that they should de-list themselves.

The company will be officially deregistered on July 12, after E3, which will be unfortunate considering that would be the period when their stocks would grow if they had a good showing. We will bring you more information about where Konami will be going in the future as it becomes available.
