Banjo Kazooie Spiritual Successor Raises 1.5 Million Dollars In Less Than a Day

Banjo Kazooie Spiritual Successor Raises 1.5 Million Dollars In Less Than a Day

I knew that people wanted a brand new 3D platformer, but I never knew they wanted it this bad.

The Kickstarter campaign for Yooka-Laylee , the spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie , just went live a couple days ago. As of now, they have raised over two million dollars, and they only asked for about $300,000. 1.5 million of those dollars were raised in a single day! Even more ludicrous, the Kickstarter has 43 days left, to raise even more money.

“Obviously we would like to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who has backed the project so far,” Playtonic Games said in a Kickstarter update. “Our intention from the beginning was to use Kickstarter as a means to improve Yooka-Laylee , and you’ve helped us shape it into one fine specimen.”

If you want to be a part of this runaway success of a Kickstarter, head on over to the official Kickstarter page. A donation of just $15 will get you a PC version of the game when it comes out, and $22 will get you a console version.
