Lost Planet 3 Developer Shutting Down

Lost Planet 3 Developer Shutting Down

Spark Unlimited, the studio behind Lost Planet 3 , Legendary , and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z , is shutting itself down. It has canceled all of its projects and laid off all of its employees. The company’s assets are now on sale on asset liquidation site CMA Auctions. CEO John Butrovich even explained the closure, saying, “it’s the end of Spark as a game developer.”

While this means a lot of people have lost their jobs, Butrovich said that many key members of the studio have already left to pursue other work. At time of closure, the studio was mostly working on free-to-play games anyway.

It’s unclear where the members have moved on to or what new projects they will be working on. However, we wish them all the best.
