Nintendo Will Not Reveal the NX at E3

Nintendo Will Not Reveal the NX at E3

Even though Nintendo’s mysterious new NX is hot on everybody’s mind, it looks like they won’t be giving us a peak at it this E3. Instead, Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s Chief Executive, has said that Nintendo will not be revealing much about the NX at all until 2016. He also said that he cannot talk about the time period that it will go on sale, or what its price will be. He says that, “Because we are calling it a ‘new concept,’ we are not thinking of this as a ‘simple replacement’ for the 3DS or the Wii U.”

He went on to say he won’t be discussing smart devices or quality of life initiatives at E3 this year, as the conference is geared toward video games only.

That being said, Nintendo could say one thing about the NX. They are hoping to make it region free. While Iwata said that they probably can’t remove region locking from current consoles, they do see the desire for consoles to be region unlocked in the future, so at least that’s a positive.

We will bring you more information about Nintendo and the NX as it becomes available.
