The Xbox is not particularly well known for its JRPGs. Usually, this classic genre of game is left to the PlayStation and sometimes the PC. There isn’t a single JRPG listed on the Xbox One’s upcoming lineup for the next year. Phil Spencer has previously said that we will see JRPGs and other Japanese games on the Xbox One, but we really haven’t yet.
Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t be getting much news on that front, although Microsoft does have something planned for the future. In response to a fan query about JRPGs on the Xbox One, Phil Spencer said “It’s a good and fair question. Keep asking until we show you something you like. I can’t share specific plans now, sorry.”
Of course, we are coming up on E3, so maybe we will see something new coming out of the Xbox conference this year in terms of JRPG releases. We will keep you posted.
