Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst to Be Open World

Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst to Be Open World

We now have a title and some footage for the previously-announced Mirror’s Edge sequel. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst will be Faith’s origin story, showing how a little girl growing up in a corporate-owned dystopia grew into a freedom-fighting hero. It will be played from a first-person perspective like the last game, but differs in several important ways.

The biggest of these is that Faith’s city will be a free-roaming area with no levels or loading screens. There will be missions and other challenges scattered around the map, allowing for a great deal of player freedom. We don’t quite know how this will jive with the storytelling aspects of the game. It was also hinted that Faith will not be using guns at all in this game, relying solely on her parkour skills and martial arts prowess.

Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst will be released on February 23, 2016.
