Since its reveal, fans of the series have been hungry for more information on X-Com 2 . Well, not too long after E3 2015, video of the game’s full demo has been released. Clocking in around 10 minutes, it showcases much of what we already knew about the sequel, but were happy to have confirmed: it’s set 20 years after the end of the original, and goes with the assumption that humanity lost the fight and Earth was fully colonized by the aliens.
Sounds grim, but the plot allows for a rebellious, anti-authoritarian bent to the game that makes for lots of great alien-killing via the resistance movement. Firaxis have been pretty adamant up to this point that the game will be PC-exclusive, but I can’t help but think that come E3 2016, we’ll be seeing the title carted out during either Microsoft’s of Sony’s press conference. We’ll have to wait and see, I suppose. Until then, here’s the footage:
