Playstation 20th Anniversary Dualshock Controller Announced

Playstation 20th Anniversary Dualshock Controller Announced

Last December, Sony released a limited-edition PS1-branded PS4, complete with retro-themed dualshock controller. The systems sold out almost as soon as they were up for sale, and there haven’t been any further models produced since. This was a huge upset for collectors and fans, and those systems now fetch huge asking-prices online. So it’s good to hear that at least one part of that limited-edition console is going back into production – on a massive scale, no less – this September.

That’s right, the 20th Anniversary PS4 controller will be yours for the purchasing this fall, and it looks great. While still maintaining the shape and design of a standard PS4 controller, the paint job evokes the classic Dualshock gray look, complete with the original Playstation logo on the PS button. The only difference between this version and the one included with the limited-edition system, is that the dots on the touch pad will be standard, instead of the button logos that were etched into the limited version. Anyone thinking about picking up a new controller may as well hold off until the release of this loving homage.
