While not always concrete proof of a game’s development, domain registrations are usually a where-there’s-smoke-there’s-fire type situation. In this case, signs seem to be pointing to Mafia 3 being a title that’s in active development. The last entry, Mafia 2 , was a (for the time) very beautiful open world that was plagued by having little to actually do in it. For all intents and purposes, the game may as well have been linear.
Here’s hoping that should this rumor turn out to be true, 2k Czech will put just as much care and effort into the world as they did the art design and character modeling. Personally, I always thought the Mafia series always had untapped potential. There’s a good chance we’ll be hearing more about Mafia 3 one way or the other by Gamescom in the fall.
