It’s always interesting to get an early idea of what could be the most popular game at an event like EVO 2015, and organizer Joey Cuellar has shed some light on what most people will be lining up to play July 17-19, 2015. 2,227 competitors have signed up to play Ultra Street Fighter IV .
As you may recall, due to launch issues, EVO 2015 will not be using the PS4 version of Ultra Street Fighter IV . Instead, the tournament will be relying upon the Xbox 360 release to ensure a more stable experience.
Other entrant figures for EVO 2015 were released by Cueller. Super Smash Bros . and Super Smash Bros. Melee are also in the top three, with 1,926 and 1,869 people registered to play both. Mortal Kombat X has 1,162 entrants, Guilty Gear Xrd 968, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with 816, Tekken 7 has 458, and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax has 437 waiting to play.
Killer Instinct is bringing up the rear, with 397 people registered. That’s still a very admirable figure, but doesn’t compare to Ultra Street Fighter IV ‘s 2,227 contestants.
