Square Enix Bringing Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy to SDCC 2015

Square Enix Bringing Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy to SDCC 2015

The San Diego Comic Con is this weekend and, well, it’s a good event for anyone who loves video games. Major publishers and developers show up, like Square Enix. This year, the company is going back to its roots for most of its presentations, by focusing on Dragon Quest , Final Fantasy and exclusive collectibles for attendees.

The Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy I’m referring to are Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below for the PS4 and the PC release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD . The former will be out in a few months on October 13, 2015, meaning SDCC people get to enjoy some brawling with iconic JRPG heroes a little early. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD , however, doesn’t even have a release window yet, so those who play it will be among the first to see how it looks on a computer.

Square Enix will also have five figures at SDCC 2015, some of them event exclusive. The $100, blue and gold Batman: Arkham Knight Play Arts -Kai- Batman is the SDCC 2015 figure, while the $120 DC Comics Variant Play Arts -Kai- Timeless Wild West Batman and $100 Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Play Arts -Kai- Venom Snake can only be bought at events like this one. SDCC attendees will also be able to buy the $40 Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Carbuncle plush or $250 DC Comics Variant Play Arts -Kai- Designed by Tetsuya Nomura Batman.

The basic message is, if you’re going to be at SDCC June 9-12, make time for Square Enix and maybe bring some money.
