Japanese Solid Snake Voice Actor says Kojima Productions is Closed

Japanese Solid Snake Voice Actor says Kojima Productions is Closed

It looks like Kojima Productions has finally closed shop. This comes straight from the voice of Solid Snake himself. No, not David Hayter, but rather Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice of Solid Snake.

“Kojima Productions was forced to disband, but it appears that the work that the team has been putting their utmost effort into is nearly complete,” Otsuka said in a post on Twitter. “I’m not exaggerating when I say that I expect it will become their greatest masterpiece. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to say ‘Kept you waiting, huh?’ (Laughs.) But even if this is the end, Metal Gear Solid is immortal!”

Kojima Productions’ final game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain , will release on September 1, 2015. Konami has said that the Metal Gear franchise will continue, despite the company’s falling out with Kojima, and Kojima has said that he will continue developing games, despite his departure from Konami. Kojima will be leaving Konami alongside other Kojima Productions senior staff when their contract is up in December 2015.
