Xbox One Owners Want CoD: Black Ops II

Xbox One Owners Want CoD: Black Ops II

Ever since the Xbox One backwards compatibility was announced at E3 2015, Microsoft has been asking people which Xbox 360 games they want to play on their new systems. The company even made a polling website to make it easier for everyone to see what’s in demand. A new title has taken the top spot, and it’s surprising. There’s no Xbox 360 exclusive there. Rather, it’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II .

Call of Duty: Black Ops II isn’t just the most requested game for backwards compatibility, with over 78,000 votes. It’s also the title that’s received the most comments. 3522 people had something to say about the game. The second and third place contenders, Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim , have over 76,200 and 71,100 votes and almost 1,300 comments each, respectively.

It also isn’t the only Call of Duty game on the list. Modern Warfare 2 , Modern Warfare 3 , Modern Warfare 4 , the original Black Ops , and World at War join Call of Duty: Black Ops II among the top 20 most popular requests.

As to whether we’ll receive all these Call of Duty games as backward-compatibility titles – that could be problematic. Activision now has a Playstation-first agreement with Sony for the CoD series, so it might see backward compatibility on Xbox as against its best interests. Since Microsoft needs the permission of a game’s publisher before putting a game up as a backwards-compatible title, we’ll have to wait and see if any of these requested games appear.
