Street Fighter V Beta Has Been Extended

Street Fighter V Beta Has Been Extended

The Street Fighter V beta hasn’t been going so well, or perhaps it’s going swimmingly depending on what you think the purpose of a beta is. In this case, it was an attempt to test their new netcode and the server load it would create. Long story short, Capcom couldn’t handle it. The servers were taken down multiple times over the course of the beta, and while it was supposed to be taken down permanently on the 28th, Capcom has decided that their fans need a little bit more time with the game. Thus, Capcom has said that they will be extending the beta period via Twitter. How long? We aren’t quite sure, but at least we all get to fool around with it a little more.

Capcom’s next beta will allow PC users to get in on the test. For now, they are just testing their online system, but further betas will also test their currency system, their matchmaking algorithms, and the game’s central mechanics. We will bring you more information about these upcoming beta tests as it becomes available.
