Windows 10 Launches Today

Windows 10 Launches Today

If you are looking to upgrade your operating system, you are in luck. Windows 10, the much awaited upgrade from Windows 8, has finally come, but for only a very few people. Windows users that reserved a space in the queue in order to update their Windows 7 or 8 devices to 10 are starting to receive their downloads. These downloads are being rolled out slowly over the next week or so.

If you were left out of the loop, Windows 7 and 8 users can upgrade to Windows 10 for free the first year after launch. You should see an upgrade button in your taskbar right now.

Unfortunately, Windows 10 poses some problems for PC gamers. The primary problem is that Windows 10 doesn’t let you turn off automatic updates, which can interact quite poorly with things like graphics drivers. Some customers report that automatic updates are replacing graphics drivers with older versions, for example. An OS that randomly breaks your graphics drivers is certainly bad news for the gaming community. We will have to see how well this OS fares once it spends some time in the wild.
