I guess we now know why Blizzard is holding a press conference at Gamescom 2015. The company hinted at a secret World of Warcraft expansion, which will be officially announced next month. Way to keep a secret, Blizzard!
No details about the World of Warcraft expansion have been revealed, aside from the fact it exists. Blizzard did confirm that it will be unveiled at 8am PDT on August 6, and that more information will come at 8am PDT on August 9.
The last World of Warcraft expansion was Warlords of Draenor . It ws announced in November 2013, and released in November the following year. It’s most notable for its initial restriction on flying mounts, the ability to create and manage garrisons, and new level cap of 100. Just how high can those numbers go? It looks like we’ll find out at Gamescom.
