Blizzard Considering Next RTS Project

Blizzard Considering Next RTS Project

RTS fans are worried that StarCraft might be over when StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void comes out. The last expansion in the Starcraft II line, this might signify a 10 year gap before a Starcraft III happens – at least if the development schedule mimics that of Starcraft I and II.

While they likely won’t immediately start working on Starcraft III, the thought of working on another RTS is appealing to Blizzard. Producer Tim Morten assured us that Starcraft and Warcraft are not over, and that the team will consider all their IPs when work on Legacy of the Void is done.

“It’s very rewarding for us to hear that there’s demand out there for more RTS content in the Warcraft universe so once we’re done with Void I think we’ll get together as a team and talk about what would inspire us to work on next. There’s no question, though, that we’ll consider Warcraft, StarCraft , or even new ideas. Anything is possible.”
