Part of the allure of the Humble Store is knowing you’re doing some good while you’re gaming. The distributor donates 10% of the money you spend on a general purchase to a charity. The thing is, it’s always been about supporting charities Humble chose. Now, you get to decide for yourself.
The Humble Store now has a “choose your own charity” policy. When you visit the site, a box in the upper right corner will say what charity is currently set to receive your donation, and you can change that and pick a new one by selecting “pick a new one.” A list then comes up that lets you choose a different charity. When I took a peek, 611 search results came up.
It may seem like a few purchases wouldn’t matter, but the Humble Store keeps a running tally of money donated to charity because people bought games. When I stopped by the site, the figure was at $3,039,016. So go make a difference for your favorite cause.
