Destiny: The Taken King Requires Large Installation

Destiny: The Taken King Requires Large Installation

Destiny: The Taken King will require quite a large installation on older consoles. This might make it so that the game won’t be able to run. On the Xbox 360 you will need 10 GB of free space to even install it in the first place. The PS3 is even worse! It requires 20 GB of free space, and an extra 10 GB afterward for an update. Early Xbox 360s and PS3’s had 20GB of memory or less, making their hard drives simply too small to make these games run.

What is Bungie’s solution to this problem? Well… they don’t really have one. All that they can say is to upgrade your console. There’s just no way to get it to run on a console that doesn’t have enough space. Luckily, Destiny supports in-family transfers. So if you have a PS3 you can transfer your data over to a PS4, or if you have an Xbox 360 you can transfer your data over to an Xbox One. PS3 owners can also upgrade their hard drive for relatively cheap.

Activision has said that players can contact Activision Customer Support in order to figure out what upgrading option is right for them.
