Parents with kids will be pleased to know that Skylanders SuperChargers will have some cross-platform compatibility. It isn’t just about using the same NFC figures with both games either. Since the mobile game is identical to the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U versions, there will be a cross-save function with cloud-based saves.
This means if someone has a child and starts them playing on the console version of Skylanders SuperChargers , that progress can carry over to the mobile version of the game. Of course, the save can also transition from, say, an iOS device to the PS4. The goal is to make it easy for people to play the game everywhere.
Skylanders SuperChargers will be coming to the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Wii, and 3DS on September 20. It will come to iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches as well on October 25, With the mobile version, people can choose between a physical starter pack that includes a portal, figures, and controller or an entirely digital edition that uses virtual figures and vehicles that can be swapped with the press of a button, if they already have a portal from the previous game. The digital versions of Stealth Elf, Dive-Clops, and Spitfire have a different appearance in-game.
