Xbox One November Update will Offer Backwards Compatibility

Xbox One November Update will Offer Backwards Compatibility

Ever since it was announced at E3, backwards compatibility is all anyone interested in the Xbox One can talk about. It’s the sort of thing that will sell systems. But all Microsoft could tell us is that it will be part of a fall update. That is, until now. The Xbox One November update will add backwards compatibility with about 100 initial titles.

Xbox One backwards compatibility will work with over 100 Xbox 360 physical and digital games at launch, and that number will increase as time passes. You’ll be able to enjoy multiplayer games with people still playing on Xbox 360s. Also, you can take screenshots, stream gameplay footage, and even record footage like you would with native Xbox One games.

The Xbox One November Update will also include a number of streamlining and general usability alterations. The Guide will be accessible at any time if you double tap the Xbox button or press left while on the Home screen, making it easier to do things like connect with friends or tweak settings. The Home, Community, OneGuide, and Store will also be made more user-friendly.

Xbox One Preview Program members who have opted in to test firmware updates should get an invitation to register via the Xbox Preview Dashboard soon. Everyone else will see the Xbox One November update roll out sometime in (wait for it) November.
