Another game is getting amiibo support, because why not? It’s probably not difficult to do on Nintendo’s end and makes those NFC figures even more enticing. So when Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam finally shows up for the 3DS, know that it’ll use the toys too. People who scan them in will get certain cards to use in-game. For what? It’s not exactly clear yet. But hey! 18 amiibo will be more useful!
Here’s a list of all the compatible amiibo. Maybe the duplicate characters, like the Marios, Yoshis, and Peaches, might unlock the same cards?

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam will be released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016. That should give you plenty of time to track down a few of those amiibo so you can use them in the RPG.
