Star Wars Battlefront won’t Make You Fight with Microtransactions

Star Wars Battlefront won’t Make You Fight with Microtransactions

Here’s the thing about EA games that end up offering some sort of online component, or perhaps focusing on them. There’s always that fear that microtransactions will seep in. Others will be willing to pay for things, rather than earn them, and that creates an imbalance. Fortunately, DICE has confirmed this won’t be the case with Star Wars Battlefront . While the game has both points and credit systems, neither involve real cash.

Niklas Fegraeus, a Star Wars Battlefront Design Director with DICE, confirmed this when talking to GameSpot . He stated that there is a two-tier system, but effort is the only way to earn things. Microtransactions will not be in any way in the game. The exact quote was, “There are several [credit] systems working together here. Just doing things in the game earns you points, and those [points] earn you credits. That’s the baseline system; the more you do, the more credits you get.” So while there are two, they work together based on what you’re doing in Star Wars Battlefront.

Star Wars Battlefront will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on November 17.
