Splatoon’s Splatnet is Nintendo’s First Companion Site

Splatoon’s Splatnet is Nintendo’s First Companion Site

Splatoon has not only showed progress on the part of Nintendo concerning online events and free DLC, but also marks another sign of progress. The game has its own companion website, which allows people to check on their character, the current competition, maps, and plan matches. The site, known as Splatnet , was originally only for Japanese players, but now has opened for everyone.

Splatoon ‘s Splatnet isn’t exactly perfect, but it’s pretty comprehensive. If you’re logged into Miiverse on your PC, you’ll automatically be logged into Splatnet as well. You can see which of your friends are online, their Splatoon stats and loadout, and if they’re actually in-game. If it’s a Friday or Saturday, you can even arrange a match via Twitter. You can check general rankings and your current equipment, though it’s impossible to change your loadout via the site. You can see how many points you’ve inked with each weapon type, though!

Most helpful is a list of all stages available in the Ranked and Turf Wars modes. You can see what’s going to be available for the next 12 hours, to help decide if it’s worth actually going online. It’s handier than you’d think, especially since we’re still limited to two randomly decided stages at a time.
