Do you know what’s coming out October 16? That Goosebumps movie that stars Jack Black as series’ author R. L. Stine. Know what’s coming out October 13? It’s Goosebumps , WayForward’s point-and-click adventure for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The release date has been announced and trailer released (though we still don’t have a price – how ominous).
The Goosebumps game follows the plot of the movie and acts as a prequel. All of R. L. Stine’s monsters have escaped from his books and are being led by Slappy the dummy. They’re out to cause trouble, but people can participate in a Shadowgate -inspired game to stop their menacing mayhem.

Hopefully both of these media outings enhance our memories of the original series rather than make us doubt our grade school selves’ sense of taste. Let’s also hope this is Shantae, Mighty Switch Force , and DuckTales: Remastered WayForward rather than Hotel Transylvania, The Smurfs 2, and Happy Feet Two WayForward.
